Two of your comments here really resonate with me ---> <br /><br />"...the ways people come into our lives, impact us, and in some ways serve as mentors whether we know it or not."<br /><br />And<br /><br />"we as critical educators might continue to honor them by embodying the spirit of reciprocity each one lived." <br /><br />I say we have the moral obligation/duty to absolutely continue to honor those who've gone before us in the name of academic (and particularly Latino/a studies) productivity and focus. Of course reciprocity manifests in a variety of ways and, as you point out, is often not "on the books" or goes thankless. Still it is quite important.Amanda R.
